NI Kidney Research Fund recognise fundraising efforts of Larne Grammar School pupils

NI Kidney Research Fund Volunteers present a plaque to Ashleigh Stewart, Mrs Addis during Year 9 Assembly

During Year Assembly on the 20th November 2019, Robert Scott and John Brown, both volunteers for the Northern Ireland Kidney Research Fund (NIKRF), presented Year 9 with a glass plaque in recognition of their fundraising efforts over the last seven years.  They also addressed the year group about the work of the charity and how it’s work has benefited both their families.  Ashleigh Stewart, in Upper Sixth, also addressed the year group about her family’s experience of kidney disease and spoke movingly about why the charity is so important to her.  Ashleigh first drew our attention to the charity when she was a pupil in Year 9 and has continued to raise awareness with all our Year 9 pupils ever since. So a big thank you to Ashleigh for being so committed to the work of the charity and for making so many of our pupils aware of the lifesaving work the charity continues to support.
