Trees for Schools Programme

Head Boy, Scott Alexander, Head Girl, Clara Devlin and Principal, Mr Jonathan Wylie plant an Oak tree in the grounds of Larne Grammar School to mark Northern Ireland’s Centenary.

The tree and accompanying plaque were provided by the Northern Ireland Office as part of their ‘Trees for Schools’ programme with every school in NI being encouraged to plant a native tree in their grounds between October and December.  This initiative is part of a wider UK Government project to tackle climate change which was featured in the UN’s COP26 Climate Change Conference in Glasgow.
