• Tuesday 11 January 2022 RE Trip to Downpatrick A group of RE students who travelled to Downpatrick to visit the St Patrick’s Centre and the grave of St Patrick located at Down Cathedral. The pupils are currently studying the life and teachings of Patrick as well as the impact he had on Ireland’s ecclesiastical outlook.
• Tuesday 11 January 2022 Trees for Schools Programme Head Boy, Scott Alexander, Head Girl, Clara Devlin and Principal, Mr Jonathan Wylie plant an Oak tree in the grounds of Larne Grammar School to mark Northern Ireland’s Centenary.
• Tuesday 11 January 2022 Charity Update This week the Charity Committee set out to support the “In from the Cold” Appeal for the homeless in Belfast by selling candy canes. Over the course of the week we sold 75 dozen to the pupils, who responded very well to this appeal. This money will be added to the money raised from the Hoody Day and the non-uniform day on Tuesday 21stDecember. Thank you to everyone who helped bundle the canes, sell them and to those who bought them.
• Tuesday 11 January 2022 Christmas Doors Competition For the past 2 weeks pupils (and Class Tutors) have been busy designing and decorating the door of their registration class for the Christmas Door Competition. What started out as a bit of fun rapidly turned into a hotly contended competition with many ‘heated’ conversations (mainly in the staff room!) as to whether doors should be disqualified if the decorations extended past the door. However, in the spirit of Christmas, no doors were disqualified.
