Charity Committee Summary

This year ended on a busy note.  Over the past year pupils and staff and friends of the school had donated bras for Pretty in Pink.  These raise money for breast cancer patients and are upcycled and sent to African countries where women benefit from greater dignity.  This is a win win! 

Today pupils donated lots of used LGS uniforms which are being sent to Kenya with a team at the end of August. Gillian Hayburn, from Friends of Vispa, explained how little the children had and the difference these uniforms will make to so many children and teenagers.  They were really pleased to receive these donations. 

With the many charity events this year, and because of your generosity, we can send £3000 to each of our chosen charities, namely Water Aid UK and White Ribbon, both of which are delighted!
